Please read this page before you buy, hold, send or spend bitcoin with Remiga. It describes the main risks. It is not a complete list, and it is not investment, legal or tax advice.
Price risk
Bitcoin is volatile. Its value in dollars can rise and fall sharply, sometimes within minutes, and you can lose all of it. One bitcoin stays one bitcoin, but what it buys can change from one day to the next. Past prices tell you nothing about future prices. Only keep in bitcoin what you can afford to lose.
Not insured
Liquidity and transfer risk
There may be times when you cannot sell or convert bitcoin at the price you expect, or at all. Payments can be delayed or fail because of network congestion, technical faults or the rules of the recipient.
Irreversible payments
A confirmed bitcoin payment cannot be reversed. If you send bitcoin to the wrong recipient or to a scammer, we cannot get it back for you.
Self-custody risk
Your wallet keys are stored only on your device. If you lose your device and your recovery words, you lose access to your bitcoin for good. Anyone who learns your recovery words can take your bitcoin.
Technology risk
Bitcoin and the Lightning Network are software. Errors in the protocol, in wallet software or in our systems, as well as cyber attacks, can lead to losses.
Legal and tax risk
Laws on digital assets can change at the federal and the state level and may affect how you can use bitcoin. Selling or spending bitcoin can be a taxable event. Please ask a tax professional.
Card balance
Bitcoin on your card balance is held by Remiga LLC on your behalf and kept separate from our own funds. [Describe how customer funds are held and what happens if Remiga stops operating.]
