Is my money really mine?
Yes. The bitcoin in your wallet is secured by keys that only exist on your phone, so we can’t move or freeze it. If you have a Remiga card, your card balance is the one part we hold for you, and the app always shows it separately.
What if I lose my phone?
Your bitcoin is not on the phone, it is on the Bitcoin network. Install Remiga on a new phone, enter your twelve recovery words, and your wallet is back. Freeze your card in the app or by writing to support@remiga.app.
What does a payment cost?
Nothing from us, ever. A Lightning payment carries only the network fee, usually 0.00000001 BTC, and it goes to the Bitcoin network. With a Remiga card we cover that too. On-chain sends carry a miner fee, which we show before you send.
What happens if the price drops?
A sat stays a sat, but it can buy less in dollars, and that can happen fast. We can’t change that and we won’t promise otherwise. Only keep in bitcoin what you are comfortable holding.
Where can I pay?
Anywhere that shows a Lightning code, in online shops with Lightning at checkout, and with a Remiga card wherever cards are accepted. Our map lists cafés, restaurants and shops in many cities.
Do I pay tax?
Depending on where you live, selling or spending bitcoin can be taxable. We don’t give tax advice, but you can export every transaction as a CSV file for your tax preparer.
