How a Philadelphia café went Lightning

Guests at Juniper Coffee kept asking if they could pay with bitcoin. One morning, Lena signed up, printed a code and took her first payment before noon.

Juniper Coffee is a small café in Philadelphia with eleven seats and a line at nine. For months, the same question came up at the counter about twice a week. Can I pay with bitcoin? Lena, who runs the café, always said no.

This is an example story, written to show how setup with Remiga Business works.

Why she hesitated. Lena had two worries. The first was the price. She pays rent and suppliers in dollars and did not want to watch a chart. The second was time. A new terminal, a contract and a training session were not something she could fit between the morning rush and the afternoon baking.

What changed her mind. The switch Pay out in dollars answered the first worry. With it on, every Lightning payment is converted the moment it arrives, so the rate after the sale does not matter. She can also keep a share in bitcoin if she likes. The second worry turned out to be smaller than she expected.

The morning. On a Monday at seven, Lena signed up on her phone. It took three minutes, name, business, bank account. She uploaded her business documents and got the confirmation by email the next morning, within one business day as promised.

On Tuesday she opened Remiga Business on the tablet she already used for orders. A regular ordered a cappuccino for 0.00004 BTC. Lena turned the tablet around, the guest scanned, tapped and was done before the milk had settled. Lena printed a code for the counter for guests who prefer to type the amount themselves.

The first weeks. Lightning is still a small share of her sales. But the guests who use it come back, and the question at the counter has become a conversation instead of a no. Each evening Lena chooses what to keep in bitcoin, gets one payout to her bank account and one statement for her accountant.

What it costs. Nothing. Remiga Business charges no fee per payment, no monthly fee and nothing for dollar payouts. On a cappuccino of 0.00004 BTC, all 4,000 reach Lena. There is no contract, so she can switch it off any time in the app.

If guests ask you the same question, you can be set up by tomorrow morning.
