Payments

Splitting a bill and adding a tip

Add a tip before you pay and split a restaurant bill so each person pays their share from their own phone.

Dinner with friends should end with dessert, not with math. Remiga helps with both the tip and the split.

To add a tip, scan the code on the bill as usual. Before you confirm, tap Add a tip. Choose 5, 10 or 15 percent, or type any amount in BTC. The tip becomes part of the same payment, so the restaurant receives it at once.

To split the bill, tap Split after scanning. Choose Evenly and enter the number of people, or choose By item and tick what you had. Remiga creates a share for each person and gives you a link or a code for each one. Your friends pay their share from their own phone, with Remiga or any other Lightning wallet.

You can also pay the whole bill yourself and ask friends to pay you back. Tap Split, choose Request from friends, and pick them by name. Jonas, for example, gets a request for 0.00025 BTC with the note For dinner at Mira. When he pays, you see it in Activity.

Shares that have not been paid stay open in your Activity until you cancel them. You can send a friendly reminder with one tap.
