How to restore your wallet on a new phone
Lost, broken or new phone. Restore your wallet with your twelve recovery words or your encrypted cloud backup.
Your bitcoin is not stored on your phone. It is on the Bitcoin network, and your recovery words are the key to it. As long as you have them, a lost phone is an inconvenience, not a loss.
If your phone is lost or stolen, freeze your card first. Sign in to your web account or write to support@remiga.app from the email address on your account. Your wallet itself cannot be emptied without your passcode or biometrics.
On your new phone, download Remiga and tap Restore a wallet. Choose one of two ways.
With recovery words, enter your twelve words in the right order. Remiga checks each word against the standard word list, so typing mistakes show up straight away.
With an encrypted cloud backup, sign in to the cloud account you used before and enter your backup password. The backup only works together with that password, which we never see.
Remiga then finds your balance and your history. This can take a minute. Your card balance comes back as soon as you sign in to your account again and confirm with a code by text message.
Once you are back in, check your recovery words in Settings and write them down again if your paper copy is worn.
