Getting started
Making your first payment
Add bitcoin to your account, scan a Lightning code and check the fee before you tap Pay.
Your first payment is the moment Remiga starts to feel normal. Here is what happens, step by step.
First, add some bitcoin. You can buy bitcoin in the app with a bank transfer, or receive it from a friend or another wallet. Tap Receive to see your QR code and your Lightning address. Bitcoin sent by Lightning arrives in seconds. An on-chain transfer can take ten minutes or longer.
When you are ready to pay, tap Scan and point your camera at the code on the till, the tablet or the sticker on the counter. Remiga shows you three things before anything happens, the amount in BTC, the network fee and a small dollar reference. For a coffee at Juniper Coffee that looks like 0.00005 BTC, a fee of 0.00000001 BTC and ≈ $4.80.
If everything looks right, tap Pay and confirm with your face, your fingerprint or your passcode. The payment usually settles in under a second, and the shop sees it at the same time as you.
Your receipt is in Activity. It shows the shop, the time, the amount in BTC, the rate and the fee. If something went wrong, open the receipt and tap Get help.
Prefer to see only bitcoin? Turn on Bitcoin only in Settings and the dollar reference disappears.
